Sous Chef

We are currently recruiting an experienced and driven Sous Chef to join the senior kitchen team at a well-established 4 Star hotel in Clane, County Kildare, catering for weddings, leisure guests, and corporate events.

This is a hands-on role in a busy hotel kitchen, offering variety across banqueting, conferences, and daily service, while supporting the Head Chef in the overall management of the kitchen.

The Role:

As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and help ensure consistent standards across all areas of the operation. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and service

• Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence

• Overseeing food preparation and service for weddings, conferences, and hotel dining

• Managing kitchen sections and supporting chefs across all areas as business demands

• Supervising, guiding, and motivating the kitchen team

• Ensuring compliance with HACCP, health & safety, and hygiene standards

• Assisting with stock control, ordering, waste management, and cost control

• Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up

• Background in a hotel or high-volume banqueting environment preferred

• Strong leadership and organisational skills

• Ability to work flexibly across sections and service styles

• Professional, reliable, and team-focused approach

• Passion for quality food and maintaining high kitchen standards
