Pastry/Starter Chef – Prestigious Restaurant, Monkstown

We are looking for a talented and experienced Pastry/Starter Chef to join the kitchen team at a renowned fine dining establishment in Monkstown. About the Role:
As Pastry/Starter Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious and visually stunning pastries and starters that contribute to an exceptional dining experience. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and the rest of the team to develop new menu items, ensuring the highest standards of preparation and presentation. This is a great opportunity to work with the finest ingredients and be part of a creative, talented team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a range of pastries and starters to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and creativity in every dish
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to develop and refine new dishes, incorporating seasonal ingredients
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients to maintain quality and minimize waste
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment
  • Assist with menu planning, creating new ideas for both pastry and starter sections
  • Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing training and support where necessary
  • Ensure your section is well-organized, clean, and ready for service at all times

  • Proven experience as a Pastry/Starter Chef, ideally in a fine dining or high-end restaurant environment
  • Strong skills in creating both sweet and savory dishes, with a focus on presentation and creativity
  • Passion for working with fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality standards
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak service times
