Executive Sous Chef – Cork Area
Salary: €45,000 per year

We are seeking a skilled and ambitious Executive Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury property in the Cork area. This renowned kitchen is celebrated for its modern Irish cuisine with a creative, contemporary twist, offering an exciting opportunity for a chef to make a significant impact on menu development and kitchen leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Creation: Work closely with the Executive Chef to design and implement seasonal menus featuring the finest local ingredients, blending modern Irish flavors with international culinary influences.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering an efficient, collaborative, and professional environment while maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including stock control, inventory management, and food preparation, ensuring smooth, high-quality service.
  • Standards & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Cost & Budget Management: Assist in food costing, budgeting, and pricing strategies to ensure profitability without compromising quality.

About You:

  • Proven experience in fine-dining or luxury hospitality, with a strong background in modern Irish cuisine
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-end kitchen, including prior Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with attention to detail and ability to manage a busy team effectively
  • Passion for using fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients
