An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated Commis Chef to join a leading hospitality and catering team supporting a range of tourism, cultural and event venues in the Malahide area.
This is a great role for a chef looking to build experience in a structured kitchen environment with exposure to high-quality food preparation, events service, and varied hospitality operations.
The Role
Working as part of a professional kitchen team, you will support the preparation and delivery of food across day-to-day hospitality services and occasional events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes.
- Supporting section chefs and senior kitchen staff during service.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and HACCP compliance.
- Preparing ingredients and supporting mise en place for service and events.
- Ensuring kitchen stations are well-stocked, organised and clean.
- Following recipes, portion control and presentation standards.
- Supporting smooth kitchen operations across hospitality and event service periods.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous kitchen experience in a Commis Chef or junior chef role (or relevant culinary training).
- A genuine interest in food and willingness to learn and develop.
- Basic understanding of food safety and HACCP (training can be provided).
- Ability to work well in a team and under supervision.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work 5 days over 7, including weekends where required.
