Sous Chef – Full Time (County Cavan)
Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 DOE
We are currently recruiting an experienced Sous Chef to join the team in a busy, well-established family-run hotel and restaurant in County Cavan.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated chef who enjoys working with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and wants to be part of a professional, supportive kitchen with a strong reputation for quality food.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of a high-volume kitchen serving restaurant dining, bar food, and functions. You will play a key role in maintaining standards, leading the team during service, and contributing to menu development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
- Lead the team during busy service periods
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation across all dishes
- Maintain HACCP and food safety standards at all times
- Assist with menu planning and daily specials
- Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise waste
- Step into a leadership role in the Head Chef’s absence
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Background in a busy hotel or restaurant kitchen
- Passion for fresh food and high standards
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Solid knowledge of HACCP and kitchen compliance
