The Role
As Sous Chef, you will play a vital part in the daily running of the kitchen, overseeing service, supporting the culinary team, and ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef with the overall management of kitchen operations.
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking standards, and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, hygiene, and food safety procedures.
- Support menu development and contribute creative ideas.
- Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise food waste.
- Train and support junior members of the kitchen brigade.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie ready to progress.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a busy kitchen while maintaining quality standards.
- Passionate about food with a strong attention to detail.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to teamwork.
